No such rule in BJP constitution: Amit Shah on Kejriwal's 'PM to quit at 75' claim
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) intensified its investigation into alleged corruption surrounding schemes under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) with raids conducted on Tuesday at various locations across four districts in West Bengal. The raids, initiated by the central investigation agency, targeted government officials and businessmen suspected of involvement in fraudulent activities related to MGNREGA schemes.
In Jhargram, Hooghly, Murshidabad, and Salt Lake, the ED conducted searches at several premises, including a government official’s quarters in Jhargram, a businessman’s residence in Chunchura, an expelled panchayat worker’s house in Murshidabad, and a former block development officer’s residence in Salt Lake. The raids mark the first instance of such actions by the central agency in West Bengal concerning alleged corruption linked to MGNREGA schemes.
